IShowSpeed completed the Gumball 3000 assembly but was unable to stream in Singapore. He decided to continue his viral Southeast Asia Visit by returning to Cambodia for section two. IShowSpeed in Cambodia receives a proposal to become an engaged fan streamer. He explores this exciting part of his journey. See the action Gumball 3000 before with IShowSpeed in Cambodia.
The YouTube IShowSpeed and the YouTuber connected with many fans and local people. These included a veiled person who woofed at him and 14-year-olds riding motorbikes on occupied streets. Interestingly, IShowSpeed in Cambodia gets a proposition to be an engaged fan stream, which caused him a deep sense of shock. Notwithstanding, one second stuck out.
As he strolled down the road, he was encompassed by a group. A fan moved toward him, holding a banner. The banner highlighted an altered picture of Speed as a lady, with the text “WILL U Wed ME?”
“Will you wed me? Here, take it,” the fan said as he attempted to give him a ring. “Wed me? What is off with you?” the decoration answered, taking the banner to see it before dropping it.
The fan bowed and offered the ring to Speed. He acknowledged the proposition by holding out his center finger. The person put the ring on his finger. He attempted to kiss it. This action provoked the 19-year-old to pull his finger back. I want to leave! I'm gone. Damnation, no!"Watchers were in hysterics over the arbitrary proposition, with one fan remarking: “Speed went from gamer to prepare genuinely fast. Cambodia has a few devoted fans, no doubt!”
“Also, he extended his finger for the ring. It’s true Speed is hitched,” one more said. “Speed over here gathering fans and propositions to be engaged around the world,” a third added.
The fan was subsequently distinguished as Fa Seng, a Cambodian YouTuber with more than 564,000 followers. The Gumball 300 visited the Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia during the event.
The reason IShowSpeed showed the Cambodian flag during the Gumball 3000 rally is due to a case of mistaken identity. He confused the flag of Cambodia with the flag of a famous American symbol.
Here’s the detailed breakdown:
1. The Confusion: Cambodia Flag vs. Confederate Flag
- The Cambodian Flag: The flag Speed held is the current national flag of Cambodia. It features a red field with a white silhouette of the famous temple Angkor Wat in the center.
- The Confederate Flag: This refers to the battle flag of the Confederate States of America from the U.S. Civil War era. For many, it is a deeply controversial symbol often associated with racism, slavery, and segregation, though some also incorrectly view it merely as a symbol of “Southern pride” or rebellion.
Visually, from a distance or to someone unfamiliar with the flags, they can look similar because both have a red background and a central white design.
2. Why Did He Have It? The Gumball 3000 Context
The Gumball 3000 is a famous international celebrity car rally known for its over-the-top, chaotic, and flamboyant atmosphere. Participants often decorate their cars and themselves with flags, memes, and provocative symbols to get attention and create content. As part of the chaotic thrill that IShowSpeed experienced, he stumbled upon the proposition to be an engaged fan stream.
It is widely believed that Speed (or his team) intended to acquire and display the Confederate flag as a part of this edgy, rebellious “Gumball” aesthetic. However, they seemingly mistakenly purchased and brought the flag of Cambodia instead.
3. The IShowSpeed Reaction
When fans and viewers online immediately began pointing out his mistake in his livestream chat and on social media, Speed’s reaction was a mix of confusion and his characteristic loud, exaggerated humor. He initially refused to believe it, insisting it was the “Dukes of Hazzard” flag (a popular TV show that featured the Confederate flag on its car).
This moment became an instant viral meme within his community and beyond. The situation was inherently funny because:
- It was an innocent and absurd mistake.
- It contrasted sharply with the provocative intention behind displaying the Confederate flag.
- It was amplified by Speed’s own chaotic and disbelief-filled reaction on stream.
Summary:
In short, IShowSpeed showed the Cambodian flag during the Gumball 3000 because he mistakenly believed it was the Confederate flag. He likely intended the latter as a provocative symbol for the rally’s rebellious vibe but accidentally used the former instead, creating a hilarious and now-iconic moment in internet culture. This incident, along with IShowSpeed in Cambodia getting a proposition to be an engaged fan stream, added to the excitement and unpredictability of his journey.
