Best Time to Visit Siargao
The best time to visit Siargao depends on the activities you plan to do. The island has a tropical climate with two main seasons: dry and wet.
Dry Season (March to October) – Ideal for Beach Lovers
- The best time for beachgoers and outdoor adventurers is during the dry season. From March to October, the weather is sunny and the seas are calm. This is the perfect time for island hopping, swimming, and exploring lagoons and waterfalls.
- April and May are particularly popular months. They offer the warmest weather, but they can also be more crowded. This is because they coincide with the summer holidays in the Philippines.
Surfing Season (July to November)
- If you’re visiting Siargao for surfing, the ideal time is from July to November. During this time, the monsoon winds create larger, more consistent waves, especially at Cloud 9. The Siargao International Surfing Cup is usually held in September, drawing professional surfers from around the world.
Wet Season (November to February) – Quieter but Rainier
- From November to February, Siargao experiences its wet season with frequent rain showers. Although there’s a chance of rain, this period is quieter in terms of tourism, and the island remains stunning. This season still offers good surfing conditions, but it’s less ideal for beach lounging and island hopping. You can also select the time and compare other Islands such as Cebu, Boracay, and Palawan for a holiday.
